Terms

These are some terms that you have to know to play softball

Slowpitch:The type of softball where the pitcher pitches underhand it is called slow pitch becuase it is slower than fastpitch softball

Bunt:This is when the batter slowly taps the ball with the bat instead of swinging with the bat.

Batter: The offensive player who ewnters the batters box with intent to hit the ball and run the  bases and to score a point for their team

Batted ball: A ball that hits the bat or is hit by the bat

Foul: A ball that cannot be played or a play that disobayed the rules.

Base path: A base path is a direct line between a base and the runner’s position at the time a defensive player is attempting (or about to attempt) to tag a runner

Base Line: Direct line between two bases

Mercy Rule: The rule that if one team is ahead by a certian number of points the game ends earlyd, this verys from leauge to league
